Upstream – Online Reporter Position, Perth/Singapore
Upstream, the leading international oil and gas newspaper, is seeking a full-time online reporter for its 24-hour news site.
Based out of Perth, the successful applicant should be able to write and edit clean, accurate, insightful, entertaining copy quickly and be comfortable with financial and technical reporting as well as covering different geographical markets. The position may also be offered from our Singapore office.
The main geographical markets to be covered in the position are Australasia, Southeast Asia, the Far East and Indian Subcontinent.
Candidates should possess a degree in journalism, with experience of business reporting and/or the oil and gas industry preferred but not essential. The position will require some attendance at industry events such as conferences and exhibitions with some international travel possible. Candidates should be resourceful, motivated and confident and be able to build up a strong contact base in the industry.
Perfect written and spoken English is essential with international languages, particularly Mandarin, a bonus.
