Higher Education Web and Social Media Editor Job Description
£18-20K basic (based on experience) plus up to an additional 3k bonus
Hotcourses is looking for a highly capable writer to revitalise editorial and social media on our Higher Education sites. You will have a clear enthusiasm for education, a flare for writing, and an understanding of our youthful target audience.
We want your ideas, enthusiasm and energy to help develop the content and design of our sites to the benefit of our users. You will be working on three Higher Education sites:
• www.whatuni.com
• www.postgradautesearch.com
• www.scholarship-search.org.uk
These sites aim to offer the very best experiences for users who are looking for undergraduate and postgraduate courses, as well as ways of funding them.
A keen eye for detail is vital: the quality of your writing should be impeccable, and you should be adept at producing clean copy in a timely fashion. You should also be confident communicating with a youthful audience via social media, digital content and email newsletters.
This is a role on the cutting edge of digital media for the brightest and most ambitious graduates. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate experience of social media, contributing to web content and a keen interest in education.
This is a role in which your ideas will have direct impact on our sites through activities including:
• Contributing to the constant innovation of the design and function of the sites
• Communicating to each target audience via social media
• Writing content for the sites on a daily basis
• Looking at new platforms to reach new audiences
• Writing for SEO, and arranging content exchanges with other websites
