Art editor for Performance Bikes magazine
Performance Bikes is looking for a creative genius to make the best sportsbike magazine in the world even better.
Working with the best writers, photographers and bikes in the business, your job will be to inspire Performance Bike’s readers every month and keep them coming back time and time again.
We need an art editor who can design stunning pages full of the performance machines that are PB’s lifeblood, as well as develop a house style that talks the same language as our bike-mad readers.
Your responsibilities will range from creating imaginative design treatments to briefing photographers and illustrators. The ability to make the right picture selections to effectively tell a story, treat and retouch images, and prepare fully digital pages for press is essential, as is extensive knowledge of typography. Candidates will need to be expert users of all aspects of Adobe Creative Suite CS5.
An interest in bikes would be a distinct advantage, and a thorough understanding of what makes PB’s readers tick is essential. Being a creative genius is a given, but if you also know your GSX-Rs from your VFRs, we want to talk to you.
Working as part of the publishing hub, the art editor will concentrate on a single title, while also being required to work across the various motorcycle monthlies – Bike, Classic Bike, Ride, Performance Bikes and Practical Sportsbikes – delivering pages through the publishing hub that meet the demanding requirements of individual editors and the head of publishing.
