LOCATION: New York, NY
This is a full-time position for a blogger who will cover emerging markets and write a weekly column for Barron's magazine. The hire is expected to write approximately 40 blog posts per week, offering a mix of news and opinion, focusing on trends, investing ideas and interviews with managers of emerging market mutual funds. The blogger would begin work before the U.S. stock market opens and be available to report on major overnight developments as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The blogger will need to closely monitor the universe of emerging markets, aggressively reporting on trends, the performance of securities and news developments. The hire would be encouraged to attend conferences related to emerging markets and actively network with people in the industry.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The blogger ideally would have five or more years of experience writing about emerging markets for an online entity or wire service. He/she would be expected to weigh in often and to link aggressively to other websites while responding to reader comments where appropriate. The hire would also need to be comfortable using WordPress software. College degree required.
