An unusual and exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced editor with excellent print and digital skills to join MCN, the UK’s number one motorcycling media brand.

As the editor, you will be responsible for leading a team of talented news and feature writers to ensure that the paper’s high editorial standards are maintained. You will also be responsible for the digital editorial team, providing daily news and video updates for motorcyclenews.com.

MCN is one of the UK’s most iconic multi-media brands. Whilst content remains at the heart of both print and digital the brand has expanded to provide online bikes for sale classifieds, an insurance comparison service and online gear shop.Ambitious plans to develop and grow further are in place and the editor will plan a key role in this.

With your strong background on weekly or daily newspapers, you will be able to show a clear direction for the development of the title, website and commercial extensions. The ability to create innovative content in print and digital is imperative. You will build key relationships within the industry, governing bodies and decision-makers, and have excellent people-management skills.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Proven experience managing weekly or daily newspapers/magazines;
• Strong digital content skills;
• Be able to clearly explain the consumer propositions for both print and online;
• Excellent communication skills and confidence in building long-term and productive editorial relationships in the motorcycling industry;
• Motorcycling knowledge is desirable.
