DVV Media UK Ltd is expanding its market-leading portfolio of print and online B2B titles for the world’s railway industry, including Railway Gazette International, Metro Report International and www.railwaygazette.com. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Assistant Editor to head up our group’s coverage of the urban rail market and act as Editor of Metro Report International.
Based at Sutton, Surrey, you will work closely with the Editor-in-Chief and the rest of our team to plan and deliver editorial content, contributing news stories for all of our publications as well as writing, commissioning and editing feature articles for Metro Report International. You will also be expected to travel internationally, to represent our publications at industry conferences and exhibitions, develop contacts and interview key players.
You will need to be able to tackle complex business and technical issues and present them well. This will require excellent writing and interviewing skills, and the ability to develop and deliver content to tight deadlines. You will also need good editing and proof-reading abilities. Foreign languages would be an advantage, as would a good understanding of railways.
This role is varied and intense, so you need to be a fast learner with a keen eye for detail. You’ll be a positive, outgoing person, able to work as part of a small team with enthusiastic, dedicated colleagues who succeed because of their expertise and focus. You will need to be highly focused and motivated, with a 'can-do' attitude and the ability to use your initiative.
