Alzheimer's Society is the leading care and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers. Dementia affects over 800,000 people in the UK alone and numbers continue to grow.
Are you a journalist looking to use your skills to help improve the lives of people affected by dementia? The Publishing team needs a part-time Writer to assist the Editor in planning, writing and delivering content for our Living with dementia magazine, in print and online. The magazine is for the Society's members and is produced 10 times per year.
Specific responsibilities include sourcing stories, writing news and features to tight deadlines, commissioning photography and providing administrative support.
The Writer liaises with Society staff across England, Wales and Northern Ireland and needs to maintain regular contact with people with dementia, carers and the people who support them.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or have relevant work-based experience. You will be NCTJ-qualified, with at least one year's experience as a journalist. A genuine interest in dementia will be particularly welcome.
If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
