ICIS, a market-leading energy reporting service, is looking for a reporter to cover both markets and news on its daily energy publications. The company’s coverage is expanding rapidly to keep pace with the accelerating changes in the European energy world.

Traded markets have become more widespread, more active and more volatile. ICIS Heren reporters are at the cutting edge of the markets in gas, power and carbon, assessing commodities and analyzing price trends.

The news reporting element of the role involves covering the fast evolving areas of politics, regulation, company strategy and infrastructure build. Reporters are expected to break news, but also write more in-depth articles, analysis and features. They will develop a regional specialisation and have the opportunity to travel for conferences, to meet contacts and to interview sources.

The position is based in Central London.

Key Responsibilities:
To produce high quality daily price assessments and market analysis
Alternate between market reporting and news writing
Write off-diary news covering all aspects of energy markets
Attend industry events, conferences, press conferences as required

Experience Required:
Previous experience of market reporting or energy markets would be an advantage. At least one European language would be an advantage, particularly German, French, Italian, Czech/Slovak, Polish or Hungarian.
