EASY LIVING is looking for an unflappable, diplomatic, motivated and experienced Managing Editor to join its friendly editorial team. The successful candidate will be calm under pressure and able to juggle numerous tasks at the same time as well as having excellent people management skills.

He/she will primarily be responsible for ensuring that the magazine comes out on time and on budget and will be a whiz at negotiating terms and fees with both UK and International agents, as well as balancing the budgets in a way that ensures the magazine’s creative needs are not compromised. He/she will be as comfortable chasing the team for copy as they will be setting and enforcing budgets for the fashion team. Knowledge of magazine production and team management are essential, as is experience in a busy editorial department.

The ability to motivate and manage the team, at the same time as gaining their respect, will be key to success in this position. The confidence to have the occasional difficult conversation is essential. Absolute discretion is a must. He/she must be able to keep tabs on staff, pages and potential problems at all times and will be fazed by nothing.
