Job Title: Sports sub-editor

Reports To: Sports editor

Purpose of role:

As a sports sub-editor working on the sports desk during the Olympics and Paralympics, you will be expected to sub copy for the newspaper both in our coverage of London 2012 and also across other sports. You may also be subbing content for our Tablet editions.

Please note that this is a temporary position and we are looking for people to work on a freelance basis. The benefits reffered to below will be on a pro rata basis.

Personal Profile: You will enjoy working within a busy news environment. You will have an interest in sports writing.

Past Experience:

Experience of working for a daily newspaper on its sports section

Previous use of InCopy an advantage

Previous use of InDesign helpful but not essential

Confident of subbing down wire copy and working against tight deadlines
