Ignites Europe, the online daily asset management news service published by the Financial Times, is seeking a part-time translator / news aggregator to join its five-strong editorial team.
In the four years since launch Ignites Europe has positioned itself to become the must-read daily news service for the European asset management market.
Our readership has grown from zero to some 23,000 paying subscribers and we now need a bright, talented and enthusiastic translator / news aggregator to carry out an early morning search of the relevant French and Italian press and produce news-style summaries in English.
This vital role also involves producing short news-style summaries from various English language stories, and so an interest in journalism and a flair for journalistic writing is imperative.


Responsibilities:

Research online French and Italian press reports to produce news-style summaries in English.
Produce similar news-style summaries from English-language publications and websites, when required.
Proofread stories to ensure consistency and the very highest standards of spelling, punctuation and grammar.


Qualifications:

Fluency in French and Italian.
A Master’s degree or similar post-graduate qualification in translation.
Ability to write English correctly and stylishly.
A keen eye for detail and an interest in journalism.
Knowledge of the investment management industry a plus.
