Further information

CNBC is the leading source for business and financial news content across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). As we extend our content to cover ever more global financial stories, we are seeking an exceptional Deputy News Editor to join our team.

About the role
Sitting at the heart of the editorial team and focusing on our main European and Asian website pages, you’ll draw on your keen instincts to keep the pages up to date with breaking business and financial news. You’ll make sure our readers are kept up to speed too, refreshing stories and updating global markets information as it unfolds. That means proofreading copy, editing stories, slideshows and video captions, and writing about everything from financial markets and business trends, to economy and economic policy – assigning tasks to producers and writers as necessary. It’s an exciting opportunity to join a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. One where you’ll not only play a key part in shaping our EMEA site, but get your work seen on an international stage with one of the world’s most prominent business and financial news websites.

About you
Decisive, organised and able to react quickly to breaking news, you’ll have a strong writing style and a thorough knowledge of financial markets, economics, geopolitics and the key players in the business world. Experience using content management systems and web publishing tools is essential. And naturally, you’ll also be an excellent communicator, working well to deadlines and showing solid copyediting, researching and proofreading skills. More than being committed to accuracy though, you’ll be a good team worker and confident multi-tasker. You’ll also need to understand what CNBC is all about, remaining flexible to the demands of a global round-the-clock news operation.
