Football Editorial Internship – Icons.com (www.icons.com)

Icons.com, the world’s leading website for signed football merchandise, is looking for an intern to work on our site. Icons conduct signing sessions with the world’s best footballers, past and present, and recently we have undertaken signings with Leo Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Andres Iniesta, Eric Cantona and Pele for example. We supply the likes of Harrods and have on-going promotional partnerships with Sky Sports and ESPN. This summer Icons was awarded the first ever UEFA Champions League licence for signed memorabilia.

We require someone to join our ever expanding signed memorabilia business for two to three months.

Responsibilities
# Updating player profiles and site articles for the coming season
# Picture research and uploading new picture galleries to the site
# Adding new products copy and images through the content management system
# Site merchandising and promotion
# Copywriting for adverts and promotions
# Contributing to Icons’ various social media outlets – Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Youtube
# Being responsible for the Icons blog
# Contributing to the regular Icons’ newsletter

Skills and job requirements
# Perfect written and spoken English.
# Love for, and in-depth knowledge of, football
# Sub-editing skills and fact checking
# Experience of using social media tools
# Excellent phone manner
# Computer literate: Word, Excel, Outlook and an ability to use a content management system
# Basic design skills using Photoshop for cropping, resizing and uploading
# Great attention to detail and extremely diligent

# Language skills would be an asset

Rate
# £200 a week
# Based in Kentish Town, London

Ideally, to start immediately

The role will report directly to Dan Jamieson, our Managing Director.
