The main purpose of this job role is to work closely with the Deputy Editor to manage the editorial content of a contemporary and highly desirable newsstand magazine and to also work on other products of the Jamie Magazine brand and any other projects undertaken by the Jamie Magazine Ltd company as desired by the Jamie Oliver Ltd group of companies.


The main areas of responsibility for this job are:

  • Subbing and overseeing aspects of the magazine’s pages and its regular production from issue to issue
  • Assist the Deputy Editor in matters relating to production of editorial content of the magazine from suggesting content to liaising with writers, sub-editing work and managing production
  • Coordination of recipe testing, nutritional data and cost analysis as required  
  • Assist with providing and adapting magazine content for the website and other related digital aspects of the magazine as required
  • Help ensure that regular magazine deadlines are met by all staff and contributors  
  • Coordinate freelancers to help in efficient production of the magazine and any other projects as required  
  • Help create and contribute to extra projects such as calendars, diaries, bookazines and other one-off projects
  • Write articles for the magazine and contribute editorial ideas  
  • Help ensure that all areas of production relating to above points run smoothly and on-schedule and without undue extra cost to the company  
  • To work effectively with all teams, companies and associates of the Jamie Oliver group to ensure consistency, efficiency, professionalism and effective communication
