Role:
• Work with the Head of Digital to grow and oversee PITCH's social media offering
• Develop a clear proposition that will enable PITCH to offer clients unique social media expertise in the sport space
• Play a key commercial role in the growth of existing client work as well as developing new business opportunities
• Lead creative thought and idea generation around social media, either as stand-alone projects or as part of wider communication campaigns
• Manage and inspire a growing team

Requirements: 
-  A detailed understanding of the social space; both in terms of what is currently possible and future trends 
- A strong editorial approach, having a nose for a good story and a clear idea of what makes great content and what will engage audiences 
- Good sport knowledge and understanding of how brands, governing bodies, teams, players, fans etc. use social media 
- Knowledge of social media monitoring, how to track effectiveness and the ability to use analytics to make campaigns better 
- Ability to develop and direct a team, whether that’s community management, idea generation, content creation 
- Excellent client handling skills and the ability to develop and nurture client relationships 
- Good financial experience, used to ensuring projects are delivered on time, on brief and on budget

Client Servicing: 50% of time 
- Own client relationships for digital projects with accountability for budgets, client retention and project renewal 
- Forward thinking: monitor and review future trends and work with colleagues and clients to deliver unique creative solutions as well as to find new business opportunities 
- Idea generation: oversee and contribute to brainstorms to develop the strategic, creative direction of accounts and new business 
- Keep Head of Digital abreast of any issues or concerns arising with clients

New Business and Marketing: 50% of time 
- Create and develop opportunities for growing existing client business 
- Play a key role in developing new business leads 
- Oversee drafting of new business proposals 
- Play a major role in presenting new business pitches 
- Work with the Senior Management Team to develop a marketing plan for the social media offering of the agency 
- Oversee implementation of the marketing plan and delivery of key KPIs for raising the profile of the agency to deliver new business opportunities

Team Management: 
- Manage, train and inspire a growing team 
- Oversee output of account teams and ensure client briefs are being met 
- Manage rigorous quality control over work 
- Be accountable for all financial management of social media work across accounts driving margin and mark-up opportunities 
- Work with Head of Digital to ensure all social media team members have relevant KPIs and staff reviews are regularly undertaken 
- Make recommendations to the Management Board on staffing and personnel development where appropriate

Outside Relations:
- Build and maintain relationships with key people working in social and sport 
-  Develop ongoing relationships with the key Social Networks (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, FourSquare etc.) 
- Work with wider PITCH team to develop agency contacts with tech media (Mashable, TechCrunch, etc)

Financial Management:* 
- Oversee budgets and client contracts 
- Responsibility for negotiating and establishing financial arrangements with clients, (raising invoices, payment schedules etc.) working with Management Board and Financial Controller 
- Work with Financial Controller on forecasting and prompt payment of relevant client invoices
*Some of the above would be done in conjunction with Account teams

Company Development: 
- Become an ambassador of PITCH - represent and promote the interests of PITCH both internally and externally 
- Attend weekly management meetings 
- Make recommendations to Management Board on how to improve the company 
- Assist in ongoing search for new talent

Review and Appraisal
Measurement of your individual success in the role of Social Media Director will include: 
- Feedback from clients 
- Feedback from PITCH staff 
- Quality of work undertaken 
- Annual Performance Appraisals
