In-house Designer - Job Description

Role:
• Work with the Head of Content, Creativity and Business Development to update and oversee PITCH's external brand via external print documents and presentations, the PITCH website, PITCH’s social media channels and other marketing assets
• Work with client teams to develop design materials and visuals to help bring our clients stories to life in the media
• Work with the Content, Creativity and Business Development Director to find new commercial opportunities for design work both from existing and new clients
• Input into creative thinking and idea generation for design concepts around client campaigns and PITCH marketing materials
• Liaise with thirds party suppliers to get cost savings for PITCH and to make sure that the PITCH brand is consistent through other media (e.g. video)

Requirements:
 A high standard of design for PowerPoint for external presentations
 A knowledge of branding and identity design and styling
 Good skills in design for print and for screen
 Designing packaging for marketing materials/media materials
 A detailed knowledge of design for web/new media (e.g. Dreamweaver)
 The ability to bring PR campaign ideas to life visually via illustrations/mock-ups
 An expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, etc.
 HTML e-mailer design
 Skills in motion graphics, colour correction, photo retouching skills and digital photography would also be a plus

Client Servicing: 50% of time
 Liaise with client teams to design materials and visuals to help bring our clients’ stories to life in the media
 Design materials that reflect clients branding, brand guidelines and tone of voice
 Produce print materials to help client teams market their success back to clients
 Oversee the production of print materials for photo calls and events (e.g. branded boards and posters)
 Idea generation: contribute to brainstorms to develop design concepts around client campaigns and materials to better market our work to existing clients
 Keep Head of Content, Creativity and Business Development abreast of any issues or concerns arising with clients or client teams

New Business and Marketing: 50% of time
 Work with the Head of Content, Creativity and Business Development to update and oversee PITCH's external brand via external print documents and presentations, the PITCH website, PITCH social media channels and other marketing assets
 Work with the Content, Creativity and Business Development Director to find new commercial opportunities for design work, both from existing and new clients
 Idea generation: contribute to brainstorms to develop design concepts for new business presentations and PITCH marketing materials
 Play a key role in creating the look and feel of PITCH’s new business presentations, including bringing proposed PR campaign ideas to life visually via illustrations/mock-ups

Internal Management:
 Manage your own workload with some assistance from the Head of Content, Creativity and Business Development
 Liaise with and juggle the competing needs of client teams internally

Outside Relations:
 Manage timings with third party suppliers e.g. video, production companies, printers, website builders, etc.
 Liaise with thirds party suppliers to get cost savings for PITCH and to make sure that the PITCH brand is consistent through other media (e.g. video)

Financial Management:*
 Oversee the pricing of projects and quotes to client teams and potential new clients, working with the Head of Content, Creativity and Business Development
 Responsibility for negotiating and establishing third party costs working with Management Board and Financial Controller
 Work with Financial Controller on forecasting and prompt payment of relevant client invoices
*Some of the above would be done in conjunction with Account teams

Company Development:
 Become an ambassador of PITCH - represent and promote the interests of PITCH both internally and externally
 Have weekly workload planning and development meetings with the Head of Content, Creativity and Business Development
 Make recommendations to the Head of Content Creativity and Business Development on how to grow the design both via existing clients and potential new clients
Review and Appraisal
Measurement of your individual success in the role of In-house Designer will include:

 Quality of work undertaken
 Annual Performance Appraisals
