Zest Media, Production Manager / Designer

PRODUCTION MANAGER/DESIGNER
Zest Media, publisher of the six leading Absolutely magazines, are looking for a Production Manager and a Designer to join its busy production team, just off Portobello Road. This is a unique opportunity to work on the many exciting new projects which Zest have lined up for 2012 including several magazines launches.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Assisting in the production of the magazines, including the design of adverts, editorial pages, front covers and image retouching
• PDF and upload to the printers online proofing system.
• To liase with the Art Director and Senior Designer in order to make sure the adverts and editorial pages are laid out to the correct standard and ready to pass to production for press.
• To be in contact throughout the month with the editors of each title to make sure copy is coming in at a consistent pace to layout.
• Making sure that all pages designed, whether it be advertising or editorial, are of print-ready quality.
• Organise flatplans at the beginning of the month and nurse all the way up until each title has gone to press.
• To liaise with sales managers on each title to make sure that client copy is received on time and in the correct format.
• Organise print orders each month.
• To work closely with the Designer making sure that all property pages are set and proofed out to the respective clients.
• Pre-press procedures for all outgoing artwork.
• Ensuring adherence to magazine guidelines at all times.

The ideal candidate will have proven production/design experience within a publishing organisation. They will be bursting with great ideas, be organised and able to work within a very busy department. An attention to detail is also crucial.

Hours are 9.30 am - 5.30 pm (however, you will need to work late when needed)
