Sub Editor, Immediate Parenting

Immediate Media, the UK’s largest cross-media Parenting publisher, is looking for a hardworking, talented, part-time Sub Editor (maternity cover) to work across its multi-platform portfolio of parenting websites and magazines. This is a chance to become a much-valued member of a skilled, friendly and inclusive team, joining at an exciting time in the development of a cross-media parenting editorial team.
The successful candidate will possess outstanding subbing, proofing, copy-editing, headline writing and organisational skills. You’ll be a whizz in InDesign and preferably have a working knowledge of PhotoShop.
Writing snappy heads and sells will be second nature, while you’ll also have an eagle eye for checking copy and shaping up content to fit the brief across different titles, online and in print. You’ll be able to work under pressure, manage daily deadlines and prioritise tasks accordingly.
To be considered for this role, you must have proven experience of working as a sub-editor on a national magazine or newspaper. You’ll preferably have some digital experience, although CMS, digital writing and SEO training will be provided.
Experience in parenting is not essential but you will need to demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for the subject. You’ll also have an instinctive understanding of what modern parents need from their magazines and websites.

Immediate Parenting is currently located in Angel Islington, but will be relocating to Hammersmith W6 in August.
This is a three-day-a-week role, working Wed-Fri.
