SCOPE OF JOB This role will assist the Corporate Relations team in the development and delivery of strategies to communicate Burberry’s corporate and financial activities, with an emphasis on increasing stakeholders’ understanding of Burberry as a great company as well as a great brand.


PURPOSE To coordinate and support the Corporate Relations team providing logistical and practical support on all major Corporate Relations initatives, in addition to enabling the team to function smoothly and communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.


RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordination of day-to-day corporate communication activity, including speech and interview requests, risk management activity and preparation of materials e.g. images, quotes, press notices, Q&A, digital assets
• Financial calendar planning and support. Burberry reports six times annually (four trading updates and two results) and the Corporate Relations Coordinator will be required to coordinate brand assets and logistical elements of reporting days
• Coordinate day-to-day liaison with global corporate communications agencies around activities relating to corporate and financial newsflow – Brunswick, in the UK and US, Finsbury/Hill&Knowlton in Europe and Fleishman Hillard in Asia
• Corporate Reporting – manage the production and coordination of assets and project management for both the Annual Report and the Corporate website
• Shared responsibility for managing corporate enquiries to the press office inbox
• Manage the development of specific materials e.g. development of corporate business factsheets and media briefing packs
• Ownership of elements of Corporate Relations activity at key business moments, including runway shows in London and Milan, results days, store openings etc



MEASURES OF SUCCESS
• A smoothly running corporate relations function e.g.
- enquiries answered in a timely fashion
- materials logged and filed to form the basis of a corporate relations ‘library’ of information
- strong written materials developed for supportive communications materials
- comprehensive and accurate factsheets and written materials, which are kept up to date
• Good day-to-day working relations with external communicions advisors - understanding of how and where to bring agencies in, and ability to make best use of their expertise
• Strong media relationships
• The smooth running of projects that require input from others (for example working together on the production of digital assets, or news announcements that touch upon all dimensions of PR), forming good working relationships beyond the department in areas of regular crossover, e.g. investor relations, legal, company secretariat, regional marketing and PR teams

QUALIFICATION EXPERIENCE

• Educated to degree level (2:1 or above)

• Minimum 1-2 years in-house or agency corporate/financial PR experience

• Evidence of familiarity with financial data and, preferably, key financial statements

• Languages an advantage

• Experience with Luxury brands desirable but not required, though strong interest in fashion is essential
