Description:
Platts is currently seeking an experienced Markets Editor who will report on the US freight/barge and seaborne transportation markets as it relates to the global coal industry. The editor will be responsible for gathering pricing information and producing a series of price assessments, market analyses and written commentaries.
Responsibilities:
•Follow price trends and report on those trends to the US and International editors
•Develop price assessments and apply methodologies
•Report on a wide variety of issues that impact the US and seaborne transportation industry
•Develop and maintain source contacts via phone; IM and in-person meetings.
Qualifications:
•BA degree in journalism or business preferred with reporting/writing/analytical experience with at least 5 years experience
•Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
•Works well in a team environment, focusing on collaboration and adapting to the needs of a diverse team
