City AM is looking for an ideas-driven writer to join its Life&Style team. As a lifestyle journalist, you will be expected to write on subjects across the section, including travel, restaurants, health, property, technology and culture. However, a candidate with experience writing about fashion will be preferred. A demonstration of relevant industry contacts will be a big plus.

The role will involve working some evenings and weekends. The successful candidate will be prepared to work long hours, have an endless stream of great ideas and be able to write well-researched, fluent and conversational articles to tight deadlines.

City AM operates a sub-less editing system, so the candidate must be able to write clean, accurate copy that is ready to print. All prospective candidates will be required to complete a trial shift.

CVs should be submitted alongside three published examples of your work, at least one of which should be related to the fashion industry. If you don’t have published writing on fashion, an original article on the subject will also be considered alongside the published work. The position will begin in mid August.
