A great opportunity to join a vibrant, exciting and growing media business.
Professional and experienced media researchers required to focus on the European market within the database team. Old Street office location.
Base salary £19,380 per annum.
Gorkana, Durrants and Metrica have long been known as the UK market leaders in media planning, monitoring and evaluation.
The Role
The primary focus of the role will be to maintain accuracy and detail and depth of the European data on the Gorkana database through verification of new and existing media and to expand data within regions covered to help gain new clients.

In this fast growing part of our business we will expect you to become involved in many different areas giving you a variety of work and challenges which you are unlikely to find elsewhere.

Your main responsibilities will be the cleansing and verification of the existing data to ensure accuracy and detail. You will also be responsible for research of new outlets/journalists (including biographies, photos, publication profiles and publication notes and adding to the Gorkana database). You will use your initiative to research news and moves in the media and will be available to provide support and assistance to the Gorkana Group’s European subscription clients.

You will be responsible for building relationships with editorial staff of European newspapers & publications through email and telephone contact. You may be required to process ad hoc translations of English documents into German and assist European Team with administrative tasks (sales support, data support)

The Person

The successful applicant will be a well educated, professional and confident communicator capable of quickly forming professional relationships with our sales and business development teams, winning the confidence of journalists and other media representatives.
You will also have:

• Native German & Dutch in addition to English
• An interest in and basic knowledge of the media/PR industry.
• A high degree of computer literacy skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• The demonstrable ability to conduct productive research via the internet and telephone.
• Computer literate
• Self motivated with ability to time manage
• Confident telephone manner
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in all languages
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all work

This role is a full time role and the working hours are 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 9:00am - 17:30pm.
