TRAINEE JOURNALIST – MONDIALE PUBLISHING, SOUTH MANCHESTER
Salary: £12,000
Mondiale Publishing, the publisher of B2B / trade magazines for the entertainment, hospitality and architecture / design industries is looking for a recent graduate to join our portfolio of market leading titles.
This entry level position offers a unique opportunity to embark on a career in magazine publishing with a successful, dynamic media company.
Educated to degree level or above in Journalism, Media Studies, English or similar, the successful candidate will be hard working, self motivated and willing to work flexibly to maintain the high standards we have established over twenty five years in trade publishing.
A high standard of written English is a pre-requisite. You will also be expected to learn and develop a full range of skills including page layout, and management of online editorial content.
Previous experience in a paid editorial role is not essential but if you’ve written for magazines, websites or newspapers that will show us you are serious about a career in journalism.
Working knowledge of InDesign, Quark Express and / or content management systems will be viewed favourably.
Experience of photography, website design and / or online publishing will also stand you in good stead.
Our offices in Strawberry Studios, Stockport (where bands including The Smiths, The Stone Roses, and Joy Division started their careers) have an informal, friendly atmosphere. This position also offers the opportunity to travel both within the UK and overseas.
