Producer / journalist – online broadcast and conference - £28,000 - £33,000 plus a generous bonus
Inner Circle
Inner Circle events are produced by Lyonsdown, Britain’s leading publisher of business, management and industry reports distributed with the Daily Telegraph, The Guardian and The Independent newspapers.
Inner Circle produces exclusive conferences with a difference. They are approached in the same way as a TV programme with high quality production values, famous presenters, and high quality guests, broadcast live as well as packaged into a video collection. The conferences bring together top level business executives, investors, thought leaders, policy makers and entrepreneurs. People come to share insight, knowledge and vision around the most vital issues affecting business.
Role
Based in north London, you’ll have the day-to-day editorial responsibility for a portfolio of conference programmes. You’ll work as the producer overseeing each programme from conception to completion. As well as planning the schedule and being responsible for the show’s content, you’ll also exercise editorial control, working with the commercial and production teams.
In addition to identifying and selecting the speakers, guests and panellists, ensuring appropriate, diverse and balanced representation on chosen topics, you’ll also be responsible for ensuring that the host is fully briefed on all panel guests. Scriptwriting and working directly with the presenter to guarantee the high quality of programme content, you’ll also coach and edit presenters, participate in post-production and contribute to editorial decisions.
Requirements
We need you to have a proven track record as a relevant programme maker with a highly developed visual sense and a thorough understanding and practical experience of the mechanics of conferences and television. With your demonstrable flair and technical ability to make high quality programmes, and an in-depth knowledge of established production techniques, you’ll also possess an in-depth awareness of audiences and their needs, and the ability to respond with original and viable production ideas.
As well as your experience and strong track record of reconciling editorial aspiration with financial constraint, we also need your experience of planning and revising budgets and schedules and to deliver programmes on time and within budget. You’ll have proven experience of generating content ideas and a creative approach to programme making. You will also have a keen interest in passing on your skills to others both informal through mentoring and coaching and formally through delivering training sessions. Experience producing conferences is good to have but not essential.
