The Gainesville (Fla.) Sun, a daily newspaper in the heart of the Gator Nation, is seeking an experienced health/science reporter to cover one of the most critical beats in the newsroom. Home to three expanding hospitals and numerous biotech and research operations, Gainesville is quickly growing into the medical hub of Florida, and we need a reporter able to hit the ground running in reporting on the advances, trends and potential complications important to our readers. Ideal candidates will have experience in database reporting and be comfortable working with social media and crowd sourcing. As well, we're looking for a reporter able to scrutinize complex subject matters and explain them in easy-to-understand terms.
