Fantastic inhouse role working across two trade associations to develop and deliver media relations strategy and cultivate busy press office

Media Relations Manager / In-house / Corporate / Central London
c £50,000

Our client is a collective of trade associations with a devoted communications team who deal with a variety of policy and communications issues.  It is now seeking a talented and bright Media Relations Manager, ideally with experience of leading a busy press office and implementing strategies and processes from scratch, as well as creating compelling news material.

Reporting to the Stakeholder Manager, you’ll help to raise the profile of two key trade associations that operate across the financial sector, focusing on card transactions and fraud prevention.  You’ll also develop credibility and influence with key national news and business journalists across multiple media channels and communications platforms in order to reach target audiences.

Strong experience of corporate communications is essential, covering reactive and proactive campaigns and programmes, developing wider core communications strategies, working alongside other press offices as an ambassador for the associations, briefing spokespeople and offering tailored media training to colleagues, influencing news agendas, producing on-point and targeted written material and identifying new media opportunities.  You’ll be a hands-on sort, capable of producing high-level strategy and excited by the challenge of the tactical side of communications.

You’ll show good commercial insight and will be able to handle sensitive issues effectively, will possess excellent written and verbal communications, will be assertive, articulate and self-motivated; you’ll also display the right degree of gravitas and confidence to deal with senior colleagues on a regular basis.  Moreover, you’ll be able to think and act strategically and creatively, not only in the way you handle the media and formulate media programmes but across the full remit of your role.

If you think you have the qualities and finesse to complement an already highly-skilled, professional and close-knit team, send your CV through to Hetta at The Foundry by email to best@the-foundry.co.uk
