Freelance magazine designer wanted
WI Life magazine, the voice of the National Federation of Women’s Institutes, needs a regular freelance designer to work as part of our small editorial team. You must be full of creative ideas to drive WI Life forwards, highly organised and able to keep our production process on schedule. Experience on women’s magazines is essential.
The post involves working on eight issues a year, with a full-time commitment for four weeks during production. You will be designing editorial and some classified pages, as well as checking adverts meet print specifications. You must be highly proficient in Indesign CS5.5, Photoshop and Acrobat, and able to use an online flatplan for sending pages to press. The role also involves creating print-ready files to specification and liaising with printers.
