Front Section Editor, FHM
FHM is looking for an unbelievably shit-hot front section editor. This person will be responsible for the front section of the magazine, covering news, entertainment, fashion, tech, gaming, celebrity and sports.
We are looking for a pop-culture junkie, someone tuned in to what is happening in the UK and around the world. You will be expected to react quickly to news stories, giving topics covered elsewhere a unique FHM angle.
This is a key senior role, so we are looking for someone with at least 1-2 years as a section editor of a consumer title – ideally a men’s magazine. You will be expected to have a bursting contact book, and an ability to build new relationships and charm PRs and celebrities.
Day-to-day duties will involve devising ideas for your section up to three months in advance, making visual plans, working closely with the art and picture teams, commissioning writers and photographers with detailed briefs, and editing copy to ensure it is on-brand and tone-perfect. You will also be expected to write copy on a daily basis that needs little or no editing, often to very tight deadlines.
This is not a role for someone with minimal magazine experience. To apply, email FAO Dan Jude, to email@example.com. Please send a CV, alongside 5 ideas for front section content, and a detailed plan of what you would change about the front section were you given the job, as well as any relevant examples of your work. You may be required to conduct a writing and editing test at the interview.
We regret that only successful candidates will be contacted. Closing deadline: 10th September
