BRIDES EDITORIAL
Chief Sub Editor - GK084

The UK’s no.1 bridal title, Condé Nast Brides, is looking for an experienced, highly skilled and creative journalist to take on the role of Chief Sub Editor.

Applicants should have held the position of Chief Sub Editor, or Deputy Chief Sub Editor, on a major glossy women’s magazine or national newspaper. As a master of multi-tasking, the successful candidate will have a sharp eye for spotting errors, the ability to come up with dynamic and original heads and sells, as well as the talent to put a spin on flat copy. Combining organisational skills with pin-point accurate editing, the Chief Sub Editor will be expected to run the magazine’s bi-monthly production schedule smoothly and to deadline. Besides the obvious technical know-how – being fully adept on InDesign is a must – Brides’ Chief Sub Editor must be capable of keeping everyone motivated during busy press weeks, and have the confidence to chase copy and proofs effectively.

As part of this small but dedicated team, the Chief Sub Editor will also be expected to contribute to bi-monthly features and news meetings, as well as commission and potentially write a portion of the magazine’s features content.
