Are you a Production Assistant looking to develop your career, or a gifted Production Editor looking for a new challenge? GamesMaster, the UK's longest running video games magazine, is searching for a talented Production Editor to join the team.
Overseeing the copy flow of the magazine, you'll ensure that every issue is produced to the highest standards and that deadlines are met. You'll sub-edit copy from the team and freelance contributors, and organise the editorial production of the magazine. You'll have the opportunity to write regular copy for the magazine, including previews, reviews and features, attend press events and indulge your passion for games across print, digital and several brand extensions. You'll also get to manage our enthusiastic community of readers through social media.
We're looking for a real all-round talent who can write, sub-edit and organise the team. You'll have proven experience running a magazine production process, preferably of a newsstand magazine. With an excellent command of written English and high standards of spelling, punctuation and grammar, you'll have a keen eye for detail and a passion for accuracy. Fantastic organisation and time-management skills are essential, as well as being able to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines and troubleshoot problems. Experience of using Adobe InDesign to sub-edit magazine pages is essential. You'll have a good knowledge of the video games industry and a passion for games.
