The Arkansas Times is seeking a full-time reporter and editor with journalism experience, web savvy and wide-ranging curiosity.
The Little Rock-based Arkansas Times is a blue voice in a red state, a locally-owned, 38-year-old pub that, in recent years, has become a leader in Arkansas and throughout the alternative weekly world in web publishing. With an editorial staff of seven, we still manage to break as many or more stories as our statewide daily, which sits behind a paywall, with our daily straight-to-web reporting. We develop much of that coverage into longer features for our weekly print edition and also take time to do more in-depth, magazine-style features and reporting.
We hustle, but we're laid back about it.
The ideal candidate is someone with experience in web programming, video- editing, podcasting and social media, who's a self-starter and hungry to learn more.
