We are looking for a Science & Technology Editor to join our London team. This is a hands-on role, requiring considerable experience, exceptional organisation and a clear vision for the development of Stylus’s Science & Technology insight.
You should demonstrate thought-leadership and expertise in the world of technology and science, and a deep understanding and interest of this broad sector, with an address book of relevant contacts and an inside line on the technology industry. Flexibility and vision are needed to explore future directions in the broad subjects of technology and digital culture, transportation, health, science and future materials. The ideal candidate should possess strong creative instincts and a commercial understanding of all aspects of Stylus.com’s business.
You will work alongside the Senior Vice President - Content to develop and expand Science & Technology, including weekly reporting as well as producing larger topical reports with clear business relevance.
You will have superb writing skills and be experienced in commissioning and editing content. You will preferably have experience with online publications and content management systems. You will manage global freelancers and contributors for the Science & Technology directory. You will work to tight deadlines, representing the business with professionalism and integrating with all the in-house teams. Familiarity with content management systems is preferable and a willingness to undertake production and admin-related tasks is necessary.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, comfortable with public speaking, as the ability to present in a compelling and dynamic way is required. Travel will be required for global industry event coverage and presentations. Some global experience through work, travel or education is preferred.
