Purpose of Media:

The focus of the Global Media Team is on bringing premium content experiences to market & providing both consumers and advertisers with the best, highest quality content experience possible. Driving the media business and revenue is as important as creating the consumer experience. To succeed, we need to drive growth in our global media business, generate innovative and compelling consumer media experiences.

The Media team delivers brilliant daily solutions across all screens & devices, and ensure that the final content and consumer experience is the best one for that market, working very closely with other teams in Media as well as other key functions like the sales team.

This team is absolutely critical to the success of the company and is a key driver of business objectives.

Purpose of the role:

The Managing Editor will be responsible for delivering the best possible day to day editorial and content experience to our users in the country within the Editorial Group policies and strategy, adapting or innovating when necessary to the market conditions. This person should ensure alignment with the requirements for the country of the marketing, business operations and product teams. Provides strategic input for editorial, programming and production policies and manages the market editorial group to create experiences and user journeys day to day which encourage repeat use and user adoption. This role is a critical/fundamental contributor for the market growth and positioning and it can drive substantial incremental business short and long term.

Measures of Success 
- General Media targets and specific Editorial/ content/ video targets (Unique Users, Engagement, Reach, etc) 
- Cost targets of the Editorial group in the market 
- Incremental revenue contribution to the market 
- Thorough understanding & effective usage of data of Media customers across all digital platforms 
- Development & execution of roadmaps for products 
- Efficiency of processes and innovation 
- Best practice sharing with other markets 
- Delivery of all required content and product operational needs 
- Recognized Editorial & content leader in the organization and the market 
- Recognized for team excellence in performance and engagement 
- Talent development & retention

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver day to day focus on traffic levels, engagement, successes and failures and drive cross-product learning and improvement in the market across screens (desktop, tablet, TV, mobile)
• Ensures execution of editorial policy in the market
• Ensures content and features freshness and relevancy on a daily basis in the market
• Manages editorial & production man power in the field towards consumer, programming and product targets.
• Ensure talent development at the market and training specific requirements for best performance
• Can lead a EMEA project with Product and/or Editorial focus if identified as critical talent within the Media group
• Provides direction and leadership within the market, as key leader in Media
• Ensures Media business priorities are well represented at the country in balance with other teams objectives, specially Sales and Marketing
• Coordinates market input for the programming/event calendar
• Ensures identification of market content sources both for internal and external use
• Ensures policies for content account management and best usage of User Generated Content are in place in the market
• Editorial surveillance/guidelines/validation for notables & sponsors execution at the market
• Monitor quality practices across the programming activities
• Ensures production and localization requirements are delivered for the business operations team in the country. Indentify ways to be more efficient in doing the task at the market and shares across EMEA
• Provides and/or ensures local market requirements are taken into account by product managers
• Works closely with country product marketing to identify and best serve local audience segments
• Understands, support and utilize key editorial and product data insights to inform editorial decisions with critical market impact

Key Capabilities
• 8+ Extensive experience with web content production, online/offline editorial initiatives & product management
• Previous success in the management of Media but consumer data driven organization
• Proven ability to generate coverage across a range of media channels and screens, including consumer media
• Must be able to work within a cross-functional team environment and have previous team & project management experience
• Demonstrated capabilities to lead a team towards success with clear guidelines; the team tasks should be different and complex and that had required intense relationship with external and internal parties to drive success; retention or talent development
• Consumer marketing and competitive analysis skills
• Have an innovative mind that connects business with customer needs; this had to be demonstrated through products, processes or problem solving experiences
• knowledge of the multimedia business and its competitive landscape
• Track record of deals with Content and Audience scope
• Commercial ability
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and influential communication skills
• Fluent English (written and spoken) is essential
• BS/BA is required.
