Further information

Investors Chronicle, the investment magazine and website, is looking for an experienced, numerate financial journalist or analyst to join its highly regarded team of specialist writers and specifically to cover the following sectors: general retail, food retail, food producers, car dealers, consumer and personal goods and household products

A large part of the job involves analysing the performance and prospects of quoted companies, but you'll also be required to contribute tips, news articles, and features to the magazine and website.

You will be interested in looking beyond the headline figures, and you'll be able to turn technical subject matter into lively and opinionated copy for a private investor audience, whilst meeting demanding daily and weekly deadlines. The ability to analyse financial statements and come to well-argued conclusions is essential, and previous experience of equity market reporting would be a clear advantage. You will be comfortable interviewing FTSE 100 chief executives and finance directors.

Investors Chronicle, a member of the Financial Times Group, offers a highly competitive package of pay and benefits, a varied and challenging working environment and a chance to develop your skills on the UK's most prestigious publication for private investors. Please submit CVs and a covering letter to Simon Thompson, companies editor, at simon.thompson@ft.com.
