POSITION OVERVIEW: Bloomberg BNA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bloomberg, and a leading source of legal, regulatory, and business information for professionals, seeks a Reporter II to cover assigned beat and report, research, and write news stories and features for assigned publication(s) in the HR News Unit, including Human Resources Report, Bulletin to Management, and Workforce Strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and maintain sources in the government and private sector; maintain awareness of current issues and developments related to assigned beat(s) and publication; write in-depth analyses of human resources issues; write plain language and timely entrepreneurial stories for assigned publication(s); coordinate activities with other Bloomberg BNA reporters and editors who cover related beats; originate, propose, and develop story ideas independently, with particular emphasis on analysis of regulatory, legal, and industry developments; and develop and maintain subject area knowledge related to unit's publication.

REQUIREMENTS: 2+ years’ experience in journalism, including outside reporting experience; experience related to reporting on human resources and employment-related topics is desirable; specialized education related to assigned publication may be considered in lieu of some experience; working knowledge of journalism principles and techniques; knowledge of federal and state legislative, regulatory, and judicial processes; ability to report and write news stories and features with minimal editing under deadline; ability to develop and cover a beat, including developing sources and story ideas; accurate keyboarding. Bachelor’s degree. Ability to work with numbers and spreadsheets and analyze data is highly desirable.

Candidates are required to pass a test for this position.
