Further information

Britain’s intelligent weekly magazine for women is looking for an experienced acting production editor for a 12-month contract. With a background in weekly magazines or newspapers, you will be an organised, meticulous and unflappable multi-tasker. You will love the Stylist brand - and be able to name the current equalities minister, which label launched London Fashion Week and who should win next year’s Turner Prize.

Ensuring Stylist goes to press on time and responsible for signing off the issue, you will also oversee the running of the magazine on a day-to-day basis – setting the team’s deadlines, making sure they are met and leading the daily production meetings - as well as scheduling special projects or issues. You will have strong communication skills enabling you to liaise with departments across the magazine and online and also to build relationships with the Stylist advertising team, Creative Solutions, legal team, repro house and printers.

You will be responsible for maintaining Stylist’s unique voice and tone and ensure that all content in the magazine is grammatically and factually correct – flagging up any problems to the editor and team where necessary. A stickler for detail, you should be able to spot a typo or inaccuracy at a quick glance and be utterly inspired when it comes to killer headlines, engaging sells and witty captions.

With in-depth managerial experience, you will be responsible for running a team of two sub-editors as well as freelancers when required. You will be able to switch between subbing on-screen in InDesign, flatplanning and signing off in VIP and using CMS for online content.

Please send your CV along with a covering letter to francesca.brown@stylist.co.uk.

Please include five alternative headlines for each of the following: a cover feature, a news story, a fashion shoot and a beauty feature that have all appeared in a recent issue of Stylist.
