FMCG reporter, The Grocer
The Grocer is looking for a multi-media business journalist who can scoop our competition (including the nationals) and analyse the £160bn fmcg market.
You’ll be covering new trends, innovation and marketing strategies across all the major food and drinks categories, as well as niche and non-food markets – with a brief to break important stories, and a licence to write intelligent and record thought-provoking analysis pieces, features, profiles and reports on price and promotions strategy among the leading supermarket chains, mergers and acquisitions among Britain’s food and drink manufacturers, and issues such as the environment, health & obesity, below-cost alcohol sales, and other fascinating topics we cover every week.
We’re looking for:
• A newshound, with an interest in the topic, and experience of news and business/finance.
• Multi-media skills, including an understanding of new media, social networking and, ideally, audio-visual.
• The personality, curiosity and intelligence to develop and work senior-level contacts
It’s a high pressure role, but for the right candidate, it offers huge job satisfaction, a good career path, a competitive salary, as well as company benefits including a pension scheme and subsidised gym membership.
With a reputation for breaking news and setting the agenda, The Grocer is the bible of the fmcg market, one of the UK’s biggest, most interesting and most high-profile business media publications, and the flagship title of the highly successful William Reed group, a family-owned publishing and events business, whose interests include operations in the UK, France and the US.
We're based in Crawley, just 30 minutes from the lively seaside town of Brighton, and 10 minutes from Gatwick, with its fast connections to London and the world (recent trips have included Kentucky, South Africa, Peru, Canada, Kenya, Spain and France).
To apply, please send a cover letter explaining why you are right for the job, some clips or links, and your CV to: recruitment@wrbm.com with the reference FMCG reporter, The Grocer
