ABOUT THE ROLE
The assistant practice and web editor is responsible for editing and reshaping clinical articles written by nurses. The content is interesting and requires a keen eye to ensure accuracy and readability. The role also offers an opportunity to develop online editorial and social media skills as you will be working closely with the online editor and news editor, ensuring editorial quality and consistency across nursingtimes.net and its newly-launched sister site, award-winning studentnursingtimes.net. You will be part of a small and dynamic team who are continually launching new ventures and are keen for a like-minded individual to thrive on a collaborative team approach.
ABOUT THE PERSON
The successful candidate will have an interest in healthcare and in nursing in particular. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and an interest in working for both print and online. You will be keen to serve the UK’s nurses by accurately editing clinical content and driving forward the content of our website and building our profile using social media. You will need to be self-motivated, collaborative, flexible, organised and creative, be ready to take the initiative and pay close attention to detail.
Candidate Requirements:
• Editing experience, preferably in clinical or scientific subjects
• Experience of using a content management system (preferred)
• Experience of using general computer programmes eg Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and outlook
• Familiarity with Macs as well as PCs (preferred)
• Experience of using a content management system (preferred)
• Experience of using Adobe Indesign and Photoshop (preferred)
• Experience of using social media
