The card making portfolio is looking for a talented Production Editor to work on its successful title, Quick Cards Made Easy. Working as part of a small team, you will need excellent spelling, grammar and subbing skills, sharp writing skills, and be a brilliant organiser, a great communicator and a team player. You will need at least two years' magazine experience. Knowledge of the craft market would be an advantage.

About the role:
The Production Editor’s role is vital within the team. They will drive the magazine through the production process each month, ensuring all pages and copy are error-free and consistent in tone and style, every issue. Incredibly organised, other responsibilities include writing and commissioning content for the magazine, producing the online newsletter, editing and subbing pages and helping with the running of our Facebook page and Twitter feed.

Key responsibilities:
• Organise and communicate schedules for the magazine’s production and take responsibility for ensuring those schedules are realistic and achievable, and that deadlines and standards are met
• Work with the Art Editor to ensure the layout of all pages is error-free and that images are of high quality
• Edit copy and sub pages, and write imaginative yet appropriate captions, stand-firsts and call-outs in order to ensure the quality, accessibility and accuracy of every page of the magazine
• Produce – by commissioning, writing or sourcing the relevant information – a number of elements of the magazine, by agreement with the Editor
• Subbing and proofing copy
• Organise and contribute ideas for regular planning meetings and brainstorming suggestions, offering fresh ideas for all aspects of the magazine whenever possible
• Produce ideas and content for the brand’s digital offerings, including the website. Ensure newsletter goes out on time each week. Use Twitter and Facebook daily
• Liaising with internal teams and external contributors

Skills and experience required:
Essential
• Educated to degree level
• 2 years’ experience in an editorial environment
• Subbing, writing and InDesign skills

Desirable
• Knowledge and/or experience of the craft market
