Job title - Assistant Investment Writer
Reporting To - Investment Communications Manager
Background
This is a new role within the small, busy communications team of one of the UK’s most successful fund management companies, providing analysis of the Group’s investment funds and providing administrative support. It will be a hybrid position; which will involve supporting the Investment Communications Manager and the team with administrative tasks and analysing the group’s investment funds and current investment conditions in order to produce written commentary for a variety of audiences, including Independent Financial Advisers, magazines and newspapers. The role provides a fantastic opportunity to work with and learn from a team of highly experienced Investment Writers and other members of the wider business.
Job Description
Responsibilities will include:-
• Management of the team’s task lists and updating and recording activity on the database and ensuring all work logs are correct and up to date
• Workload analysis for the team including producing MI around productivity and improvements
• Ensure internal fund information sheets remain up to date
• Provide all written communications to Investment Communications Manager for editing and approval
• Produce ideas for articles and commentaries
• Write articles and commentaries
• Support other team members in researching and writing articles and commentaries
• Obtain sign off from Compliance on all written material prior to publication in accordance with internal procedures.
Experience Required
• Proven experience of writing about investments within the financial services industry or journalism
• Proven administration skills essential
• Knowledge of the asset management industry desirable
Qualifications Required
• A-Level Equivalent (essential)
• Degree Level (essential)
Skills Required
• The successful candidate will be a creative self-starter with a good understanding of and interest in the fund management industry and the ability to write to a high standard
• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• Good communication skills (both verbal and written) are required, together with the ability to be flexible and to work to tight deadlines
• Efficient and happy to adapt to different tasks and challenges
