Deputy Editor – Lighting
Introduction
An opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Editor to join our market leading title – Lighting.

About the Brand and the Company
Lighting is the leading title for the UK lighting sector. The monthly publication and website promote best practice in architectural lighting design and cover the technological and legislative drivers that are changing the face of one of the few growth industries in the building services sector. It sits within the architectural division of EMAP alongside brands such as The Architects’ Journal and the Architectural Review.
EMAP is the business-to-business media division of Top Right Group, and owns market leading brands including Retail Week, Broadcast and Construction News.


About the Role
Reporting to and working closely with the Editor, the Deputy Editor will be a key member of the Lighting editorial team. They will be expected to:

 Write monthly features and news stories
 Keep the Lighting website updated and take responsibility for the brand’s weekly email newsletter
 Be an ambassador for the Lighting brand both internally and externally
 Be able to deputize for the Editor and take over the running of the magazine on occasions


About the Person
The ideal candidate will:

 Preferably have a knowledge of the lighting industry although the ability to learn quickly is more important
 Have the ability to work quickly and accurately with the minimum of fuss while keeping in mind the Lighting reader at all times
 Have a calm head and a determined and amiable personality
 Be comfortable talking in groups, seminars and presentations
 Have strong written skills with the ability to analyse and compile features effortlessly
 Have a finely honed eye for a story
