The Tribune-Herald seeks a night police reporter who will be relentless in chasing stories and talented at developing meaningful, interesting follow-ups. Applicants should excel at filing breaking news quickly and efficiently; know how to build relationships with sources; and be ambitious about pushing the boundaries of online media. The job has a 1:30-10:30 p.m. schedule.

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree; one to two years of crime-reporting experience preferred. College newspaper experience considered. The position includes a full benefits package and 401k plan.

Recently purchased by Berkshire Hathaway, the Tribune-Herald is part of the Omaha World Herald Co. The Trib recently won the Texas APME Star Investigative Report and Star Reporter of the Year awards in its division, among other honors.
Waco, located halfway between Dallas and Austin, is home to Baylor University; the sprawling Cameron Park, which offers hiking, biking and trail-running options along a downtown river; and Lake Waco.
