Argus Media is seeking an assistant news editor for its Houston bureau. This position reports to the News Editor and is responsible for editing online news regarding North and South American crude oil, refined products, natural gas and natural-gas liquids industries. Content is heavily markets focused, with an emphasis on news that can move markets and operational news that can delineate trends. Key responsibilities include staying on top of a high volume of daily news, posting news online, guiding coverage of breaking stories, and helping and encouraging reporters in pursuing major trend stories. Occasional reporting and writing is expected. Requirements include experience in business journalism, preferably energy markets, strong reporting and writing skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks on a tight deadline.
