Dow Jones Newswires, Spot News Reporter - London
Dow Jones Newswires, the international financial news agency, is looking for a reporter to join its London-based Companies Desk in London. This is an opportunity to get into real-time financial journalism in one of the world’s most important financial centres at a time when economic problems continue to dominate headlines around the world. Companies are having to adapt to succeed in this unforgiving climate and this role will put the successful candidate at the forefront of coverage.
The position requires quick thinking, excellent news judgment and a keen eye for detail, as well as the ability to distil large amounts of information into sharp and accurate headlines and news stories. The successful candidate should be able to produce fast flashes that beat the competition, ideally having knowledge of UK corporate news, financial statements and an understanding of companies that make up the various constituents of the market. Candidates will also be expected to break news and conduct regular interviews with high level executives and newsmakers for publication on Dow Jones Newswires and in The Wall Street Journal.
Previous experience, a track record of breaking news and a background of working in a real-time news environment would be advantageous. Please email Ian Walker by Dec. 14 at firstname.lastname@example.org with “Spot News Reporter” in the subject line.
Please note only candidates requested for interview will be contacted.
Closing date: 14th December 2012
