Do you have a way with words? Immediate Media is an award-winning special interest content and platform company. One of the biggest consumer media businesses in the UK and the third largest magazine publisher. Immediate is looking for a copywriter intern to join their Creative team. You’ll be writing compelling copy for a broad client base across our entire portfolio: big brands such as Radio Times, BBC Good Food, BBC Top Gear, Lonely Planet... the list goes on. As a recent graduate, you will be able to demonstrate that you are as happy writing longer copy for both print and digital platforms as you are short and snappy pieces. Armed with enthusiasm, a glut of creative ideas, a can-do attitude and a hunger to learn, you will have the opportunity to work with some really talented people in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Are you able to write attention-grabbing copy, capture the voice of the title you’re working on – copy that also works hard for the client to communicate their messages. You’ll have a natural flair for writing fresh and creative heads and sells that draw the reader in and motivate action. You should be able to interpret and respond to a brief, and work collaboratively to come up with creative concepts that work editorially. You’ll have some knowledge of our brands. You’ll also possess a portfolio showcasing conceptual innovation and creative thinking. You’ll have demonstrable strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to present your ideas in internal meetings. Proofreading skills and proficiency in Word are essential. Finally, some basic knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop would be useful but not required.
