Wanderlust, Editorial Assistant
Passionate about journalism? Obsessed with travel? Then we've got the perfect position for you… Wanderlust Travel Media is looking for an enthusiastic editorial all-rounder to provide research, subbing, writing and general admin support to the magazine and online teams.
This is a great opportunity to work on the UK’s leading travel title, which is celebrating its 21st anniversary this year. Day-to-day responsibilities will include: researching upcoming features; subbing and fact-checking articles; writing for the magazine’s regular sections as well as advertorials and competitions; and general admin support.
You will also be responsible for the day-to-day running of our Unique Honeymoons website: generating and writing compelling content for it; uploading stories to the CMS; image research, and managing its social media presence – so being Facebook and Twitter savvy is essential.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic when working under pressure and happy to help across the magazine and website on additional tasks outside your usual responsibilities as and when needed.
This position will suit someone who is confident sub-editing and fact checking, and has a sharp eye for detail (Note: a subbing test will form part of the interview process). You will almost certainly have already worked in a magazine team, even if as an intern.
*Please note* this is NOT an on-the-road travel writing position: you will be based full-time in our offices in central Windsor, UK.
To apply, please send your CV and four ideas for our Go Now page for the March 2015 issue of the magazine to email@example.com. Please use the subject line ‘Editorial Assistant’.
This role is for a full-time contract from March 2015.
