James Wallman, Intern
Author and futurist James Wallman (www.jameswallman.com) is looking for an Intern to help with various projects, including: think tank The Future Is Here, website Stuffocation.org, app KeepTrax + a new startup.
After the success of Stuffocation (published by Penguin, reached #11 on Sunday Times nonfiction bestseller list, about to be named one of Waterstones Paperbacks of the Year), I’m in the middle of a run of exciting projects. Too much for me to handle properly. Need to find someone who’s smart and switched-on to help make it all work smoothly.
This is an Intern’s opportunity to find out how a journalist makes a living and a life today: writing articles, writing books, giving talks, giving strategic advice, and launching startups. I’ll share how it works for me, and encourage you to find your place in the maelstrom of modern journalism.
Things you’ll learn:
How to research, write, forecast the future, construct and give a presentation. (Note: how much you learn is up to you, of course. These are just some of the skills I can hand on.)
I’m based in W London, near Hammersmith. You’ll need to come there at least part of the week — especially if you want to learn from me. But much of the actual work can be done from anywhere.
1 month, with initial 1 week trial period. Possibility of extending to three months, and indefinitely if it works out
Remuneration: expenses for first month.
