Full Time

Aceville Publications are currently recruiting for an Editor to lead and develop the editorial of Teach Primary - a highly successful magazine for primary school teachers.

Over the past 10 years, Teach Primary has established itself as the leading magazine for primary school teachers. We are now looking for a new editor to continue and expand on this success.

As an experienced editor you will know how to put together a great editorial package for teachers that speaks to their passion for the job. You will have a knack for discovering the very best contributors and bringing their ideas to our readership. And you’ll know how to brief experienced writers, academics and novices alike so that their content shines.

In addition to getting the best out of our contributors, you’ll be a talented writer who is able to capture the essence of life in the classroom and connect with the headline issues of the day. No two days will be the same and you will be an expert at juggling various projects at any one time.

A knowledge of the quickly-shifting landscape of education is important, as is a commercial understanding of the marketplace. We need a candidate who is able to make creative suggestions as to how we can develop our partnerships with a broad range of education companies, and support our advertising team in doing so.

Teach Primary has a significant Twitter presence, meaning the new editor will know how best to make use of social media to connect with our followers. You will also work to support the editor of our website, Teachwire.

A calm and organised approach will be needed in order to meet tight deadlines and work in close contact with the advertising, design and marketing teams.

The role is full-time and based in our Colchester office, although the successful candidate will need to travel to schools, conferences and press events. You will also be required to represent our magazines at key trade shows and advertiser meetings during the year.

If this role sounds like you, then please send your application today by completing the application form below.
