Haymarket Business Media’s commercial content department – Content Labs – is recruiting a Senior Editor.
This is an exciting role for a production, deputy or section editor who’s looking to expand their experience and use their skills in both the commercial side of publishing and marketing as a whole.
Reporting to the head of Content Labs and working alongside the designers and content producers, the Senior Editor has responsibility for both the smooth production and quality of all the department’s content – online and in print – as well as helping out with video and small live events.
The Senior Editor also works very closely with the marketing department on both marketing content and strategy.
This is a role that suits someone who’s willing to learn, to be flexible in their day-to-day existence, who doesn’t dwell on problems but works out solutions, who’s not precious about content, who’s prepared to roll with the whims of clients while maintaining strong relationships with editorial teams.
• InDesign and Photoshop
• Proofing, sub-editing
• First-hand experience in the editorial production processes
• An expert copy polisher
• Creativity, marketing nous
• A familiarity with content management systems
• Strong ability to organise and prioritise
• Diplomacy and workplace flexibility
Content Labs is Haymarket Business Media’s commercial content department. It works predominantly across marketing and communication brands Campaign and PRWeek – but has responsibility for a large section of HBM’s portfolio including Third Sector, C&IT and Event magazines, as well as energy and environment titles. Content Labs also delivers commercial content for partner titles People Management (HR) and Supply Management (procurement).
Experience within these industries is a bonus but non-essential.
