Insurance Day, the leading source of news, insight and data on the London and international re/insurance and specialty insurance markets, is looking for a News Editor to set the insurance industry’s daily agenda.
We are looking for a talented individual who can work with a team of journalists to deliver ‘must have’ industry news and analysis ahead of our competition.
The News Editor will play a key role in developing Insurance Day’s core areas of specialism as the brand moves into the next phase of its growth strategy.
The successful candidate will work with a team of four journalists, with direct line management of one, to deliver exclusive news and longer-form analysis, as well as daily e-mail/ and PDF/print outputs, and supplements.
This London-based position requires someone with a proven track-record in business journalism, a strong news sense, sound editorial judgment, writing flair and an ability to work under pressure. Relevant experience or knowledge of the re/insurance industry is highly desirable.
This position would suit someone currently in a news editor role or a senior reporting looking to step up.
What we are looking for:
- Proven track-record in business journalism, with evidence of breaking exclusive agenda-setting stories
- 2-5 years in business reporting with daily deadlines
- Ability to develop and maintain industry contacts
- Sound editorial judgment, writing flair and an ability to work under pressure
- Proven ability to write and edit news, in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Proven ability to edit financial and technical content
- Ability to use content management systems and web analytics
- Experience or knowledge of the global re/insurance industry desirable
